In a statement issued to journalists in Jalingo early Friday, Acting Brigade spokesperson Captain Oni Olubodunde noted that the operation was initiated following reports of bandit activity in the Kona mountain range, which spans Jalingo and Lau councils.
The suspects, identified as Ahijo Sulaiman, Abdulrahman Isah, and Aisha Mohammed, were swiftly arrested. During interrogation, Aisha Mohammed, wife of Ahijo Sulaiman, disclosed that their home was used to store weapons following terrorist activities. Additionally, Abdulrahman Isah was identified by a victim he allegedly tried to kidnap in September 2024 in Iware, Ardo-Kola local government area.
As of the latest update, the suspects remain in custody. The Army has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and the nation’s territorial integrity.
