Tinubu Administration Unveils Ambitious Plan To Generate 100,000 Jobs Across Nigeria

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Job Creation, Office of the Vice-President, Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, has revealed ambitious plans for job creation. Emphasizing the collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Adekunle-Johnson highlighted the government’s dedication to job creation. He stated, “By May 29, we will create at least 100,000 jobs. The target is to create 384,000 jobs in four years.”

Furthermore, Adekunle-Johnson announced a significant partnership between the Federal Government and Access Bank to boost the initiative. The Access Bank is committing N50 billion to support MSMEs, offering loans at a reduced interest rate of 15%, compared to the prevailing 27 to 29%. In addition, the bank is simplifying collateral requirements for MSMEs seeking loans ranging from N1 to N3 million.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, represented by the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Ndace, affirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for MSMEs. This commitment aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, as stated by the Minister.
