PISE-P, described by Ikoku as a non-partisan advocacy organization, is dedicated to restoring peace in the South-East through non-kinetic approaches. The unveiling ceremony is expected to be graced by royal figures, including the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, and the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, along with members of the Abia Council of Traditional Rulers.
In her statement, Ikoku expressed the pride of the PISE-P team and the community in the Deputy Speaker’s achievements and efforts toward the well-being and progress of the people. As the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu has played a pivotal role in shaping policies addressing the needs and aspirations of Bende LGA, the South-East, and the entire nation.
The PISE-P unveiling signifies the formal declaration of peace in the South-East and the initiation of the project’s implementation. The project’s goal is not only to address insecurity in the region through dialogue with combatants and key stakeholders but also to facilitate the rebuilding of the South-East, focusing on the project’s eight pillars.
