Speaking at the graduation ceremony for Course 32 of the National Defence College in Abuja, Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, highlighted the administration’s efforts to tackle economic challenges. Tinubu pointed to the recent implementation of a new minimum wage of N70,000 for workers as a key initiative aimed at alleviating financial difficulties faced by citizens.

He emphasized, “Our country is grappling with various socio-economic issues. As a government, we are attuned to our people’s needs and are committed to taking proactive measures to benefit them. The new minimum wage is a significant step forward, benefiting both civilian workers and members of the armed forces and security agencies.”

Tinubu also addressed the issue of crude oil theft, stating that his administration is dedicated to combating the problem to ensure economic stability. He assured that local security forces and agencies will be actively engaged in this effort.

In addition, Tinubu announced plans to foster innovation in the mining sector to further address economic hardships. He commended the Nigerian military for their sacrifices and achievements, pledging continued support to ensure they are well-equipped and prepared for their duties.
