Tinubu Breaks Silence On Nigeria’s Divisions, Urges Citizens To Talk and Stay United

The President stressed the importance of dialogue in addressing disagreements and preserving Nigeria’s unity as a nation.

Tinubu made the remarks on Tuesday at the International Conference on Security and National Unity, organised by Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) in partnership with the Muslim World League.

Represented at the event by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, the President said his administration remained committed to tackling the country’s security challenges while working with other nations to promote global peace.

He said:

“Not only that, the government is determined to make sure that we remain united as a country, despite our differences, whatever the differences may be. We should talk and remain in this country, and allow this country to remain a united nation, a united country.”

Tinubu described the conference as timely, given the numerous security challenges facing countries around the world.

He expressed confidence that discussions at the gathering would contribute to efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace at the regional, continental and global levels.

The President also commended the Muslim World League for partnering with JIBWIS and selecting Nigeria as the first country to host the international conference.

He reiterated the importance of cooperation and dialogue in confronting security threats and building a more peaceful and united society.
