Tinubu Endorses Onwudiwe For CBN Board Membership

In a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, President Bola Tinubu has formally requested the Senate’s confirmation for the appointment of Dr. Ruby Onwudiwe as a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). This move is in accordance with the provisions of section 10, sub-section one of the Central Bank of Nigeria Establishment Act 2007.

Tinubu’s letter, read during Wednesday’s plenary session in Abuja, explained that Dr. Ruby Onwudiwe is being proposed as a replacement for Mr. Kalu Eke, who is unavailable for the position. Tinubu expressed his hope that the Senate would consider and confirm the appointment of Onwudiwe in its usual expeditious manner.

The nomination comes with the expectation that Dr. Ruby Onwudiwe’s expertise and qualifications will contribute positively to the CBN board. Tinubu concluded the letter by extending his highest regards and seeking the Senate’s prompt attention to the confirmation process.
