The exercise commenced in Otuokpoti, Ogbia Local Government Area of the state, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

During the launch, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa praised the military for conducting the exercise and emphasized the importance of security in ensuring good governance.

He welcomed the operation, especially since it coincided with the approaching yuletide season and Bayelsa’s preparations for an off-cycle governorship election.

Governor Diri also expressed gratitude for the military’s efforts in reducing crime and criminality in the state, urging them to continue to proactively maintain the state’s safety. He pledged the state government’s support to security agencies in keeping Bayelsa peaceful.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Jamal Abdussalam, explained that the exercise would concentrate on key aspects of cyber warfare to counter negative propaganda in the social media sphere.

It would also address various security challenges typically experienced at the end of the year. He assured that Nigerian Army personnel were prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for the peace and security of Nigeria and commended commanders from other security agencies for their support in maintaining peace and security in the state.
