Local sources indicate that the conflict began days earlier, resulting in the deaths of one farmer and one herdsman. The situation escalated around 4 a.m. on Sunday when herders launched an attack, moving from house to house and reportedly killing five individuals.

In response, authorities have deployed security forces to the area to restore order and maintain peace. SP Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed that security personnel have been sent to apprehend those responsible for the violence.

Nguroje stated that the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has directed the Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yola to conduct a thorough investigation into the clashes that led to the loss of lives and property damage on October 27, 2024. The Commissioner expressed his sorrow over the tragic events and assured the community that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

He emphasized the need for immediate action, noting that conflicts over grazing land often arise during pre-harvest seasons due to resource scarcity, highlighting the urgency for governmental intervention.
