Tragedy In Kano: Trailer Crushes Gov. Yusuf’s Former Aide, Dan Sani, To Death
Sani Muhammad Hotoro, popularly known as Dan Sani, a former Senior Special Assistant to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Cooperative Groups, has reportedly died in a tragic road accident involving a trailer.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the incident occurred on Thursday along the Hotoro Eastern Bypass, near Gade-Gade Filling Station in Kano State. Dan Sani was reportedly travelling with one of his workers when the trailer crashed into them, resulting in their deaths.
A commercial tricycle rider who witnessed the aftermath of the accident described the scene as devastating, saying he saw two people trapped beneath the trailer’s tyres when he arrived at the location.
The witness also disclosed that tension reportedly rose at the scene after some youths arrived with weapons and demanded access to the trailer, allegedly with the intention of setting it ablaze.
Police officers were subsequently said to have taken control of the area as they worked to prevent the situation from escalating and restore calm.
As of the time of the report, official confirmation from Dan Sani’s family, the Kano State Police Command or the state government had reportedly not been issued.
Dan Sani was a known figure within the Kano political and administrative space, having served as Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Senior Special Assistant on Cooperative Groups. His reported death has since sparked reactions among those familiar with his work and association with the Kano State Government.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash remain under attention as authorities are expected to establish the details of the incident.
