According to the family source, the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N10 million, but after negotiations, they agreed to accept N5.5 million to release him.

ā€œIt is true, Akor is my village. Terzungwe was a large-scale farmer and also ran a provision store in Akor. Last year, armed herdsmen attacked him, but he survived.

ā€œUnfortunately, this time around, the herdsmen kidnapped him a few days before the new year and held him for about two weeks. They demanded a ransom of N10 million, but his family negotiated and settled on N5.5 million.

ā€œHowever, the herdsmen killed him at the same spot where they instructed the family to drop the ransom. He was shot and left dead by his abductors.

ā€œHis relatives placed the ransom at the designated location and had barely moved when they heard gunshots. They rushed back to the spot and found his lifeless body on the ground. The kidnappers took the money and left his family in shock and disbelief,ā€ the family source said.

When reached for comment, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, stated that she had not yet received information regarding the incident.
