In Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, the lifeless body of an unidentified young woman was located within a refuse dump. The grim discovery took place at Nyima Hudco quarters during the early hours of Sunday, January 28, 2024, as worshippers en route to church stumbled upon the scene.
The perpetrators, yet to be identified, had callously placed the victim’s body in a sack before abandoning it in the vicinity. Nigerian activist Ukan Kurugh, who shared distressing images of the victim, promptly raised the alarm by notifying the police about the incident.
In a social media post, Kurugh urgently called for police intervention, stating, “THE POLICE IS NEEDED HERE NOW. I just got a sad report now that a young lady has been found killed, tied, put in a sack and thrown at a refuse dump around Iorapuu Adai street Nyima Hudco quarters. The attention of the security is immediately called to action here over this evil act.” The community now grapples with the shocking discovery of the young woman’s body amidst the refuse in Makurdi.
