The defendant’s counsel, Mr. O. Abdulsalam, requested bail on the most liberal terms. Chief Magistrate Mrs. O. O. Ogunkanmi granted the bail with two sureties, emphasizing that they must be individuals with landed property possessing Certificates of Occupancy within the court’s jurisdictions.

The case has been adjourned until April 23 for mention.

Christon Wilson, associated with Kristi Manpower located at Damin Plaza, 42, M.K.O. Abiola Way, Ring Road, Ibadan, faces a 332-count charge that includes allegations of obtaining money under false pretense and stealing.

Prosecution Counsel Insp Sikiru Opaleye informed the court that between October 2022 and November 2023, the defendant allegedly obtained N6.7 million from Adekemi Oni. Opaleye detailed that Wilson purportedly collected the money under the false pretense of procuring an Australian Visa for Oni and her family, which he knew to be untrue, leading to allegations of theft.

Furthermore, Dr. Wilson is accused of collecting N10.8 million from Olayemi Olamona under the false pretense of securing an Australian Visa for him. The prosecution stated that the defendant collected varying amounts from 166 individuals, accumulating a total of N700 million, all under the pretense of procuring Australian Visas for them. These actions, according to Opaleye, contravene the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
