The suspects, both 15-year-old students from Bakari Dukku Comprehensive Secondary School, are accused of stealing 100 mobile phones, 75 MP4 players, 30 cell phone batteries, 50 external memory cards, and a Bluetooth headset. Their arrest followed an investigation by the Operation Restore Peace (ORP) unit after the shop owner reported the theft.

The suspects, identified as Hamza Sadiq and Adamu Ahmadu, allegedly confessed to acquiring the shop’s key and taking advantage of the owner’s absence to steal items repeatedly during the day. They reportedly sold the stolen goods at discounted prices and used the proceeds to buy personal items like clothes, food, and a smartphone.

The police recovered 21 mobile phones, 5 MP4 players, a mobile phone charger, and a metal key from the suspects. Efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining stolen items. Wakil also indicated that the teenagers would be placed in a rehabilitation facility upon completion of the investigation.
