Zubairu, 25, and Sadiq, 20, had been mining near a tributary in the village for some time before the collapse occurred. This incident follows the retrieval of four bodies from another mining collapse in the Galadima-Kogo community of Shiroro Local Government Area just two weeks prior.

Naija News reports that the Galadima-Kogo collapse, which occurred on June 14, claimed 14 lives and injured eight individuals. The Village Head of Galadima-Kogo, Alhaji Umaru Aliyu, confirmed that the bodies of the four miners were recovered and taken to IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna. The deceased included two Muslims and two Christians. One Christian miner from Nasarawa State will be transported home for burial, while the others will be interred in Minna.
