Ubi Franklin Breaks Silence On Alleged Wristwatch Theft At Davido’s Wedding — Davido Responds
Music executive Ubi Franklin has refuted allegations that he stole a luxury wristwatch while in Miami, United States, for Davido’s wedding over the weekend.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The rumour began circulating online on Wednesday after a blog post linked him to the alleged theft.
In a detailed statement shared on his account, Franklin explained that while in Miami, a man identified as Benny approached him with an offer to sell a wristwatch. After checking its ownership history, he declined the purchase to avoid possible complications.
During the wedding church service, Benny’s brother later brought him a different watch, which Franklin agreed to buy and paid for in full. He briefly had both watches in his possession due to the busy nature of the wedding but returned one before leaving.
Franklin said he departed Miami in a rush to prepare for his sister’s funeral and was contacted by Benny mid-flight regarding the second watch. He stressed that he has never stolen anything in his life, adding that Benny had earlier dismissed the rumour before it spread online.
“I am aware of the recent social media claims linking me to an alleged theft. These allegations are entirely false and misleading.
“While in Miami, Benny offered to sell me a wristwatch. After reviewing its history, I declined. Later, during the wedding, Benny’s brother brought me another watch, which I purchased and paid for in full. Due to the hectic nature of the event, I held both watches briefly but returned one before leaving.
“I left Miami urgently for my sister’s funeral preparations. While on my flight, Benny contacted me about the other watch.
“I want to state clearly: I am not a thief. I have never stolen from anyone. I purchased a watch from Benny, paid in full, and Benny himself had earlier debunked this rumour. Yet it still spread. This is my final word on the matter,” he wrote.
