Umahi Reveals Latest Plans For Lagos 3rd Mainland Bridge, Issues Strong Public Advisory

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media, Orji Uchenna Orji, Umahi urged the public to dismiss these unfounded rumors. He assured Nigerians that the bridge remains in excellent condition.

To address concerns, Umahi directed a team of engineers, led by the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Engr. Olukorede Kesha, to conduct a thorough inspection of the bridge’s 11-kilometer structure. Their findings confirmed that the bridge is structurally sound and free from any defects.

The statement emphasized:
“The Minister of Works, upon hearing these needless rumors, deployed a team to inspect the entire length and width of the 3rd Mainland Bridge. The engineers have affirmed that the bridge is in perfect condition, with its structural integrity intact.”

It further highlighted the administration’s dedication to infrastructure development:
“The Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prioritized the rehabilitation of key road and bridge infrastructure, including the 3rd Mainland Bridge. Comprehensive repairs have been carried out on the superstructure, substructure, and underwater elements of the bridge, showcasing the administration’s commitment to ensuring its longevity and safety.”

Umahi assured the public that the Federal Ministry of Works is committed to delivering quality and durable infrastructure.
“Our focus is on quality, speed, and value for money. The roads and bridges repaired under the Renewed Hope Agenda will stand the test of time,” the statement concluded.
