While currently in Lagos, the US hip-hop star said that Nigeria is not as dangerous as often portrayed abroad, asserting that the level of violence is “nowhere near” what is seen in the United States.
In a video shared online, DDG acknowledged that Nigeria faces security challenges but emphasized that gun violence and gang-related crimes are far more prevalent in America.
“I honestly think America is the most dangerous country,” he said. “Nigeria is not as dangerous as America — nowhere near. Yes, there’s insecurity here, but the level of gun violence and gangsterism in the US is on another level.”
He urged foreigners to visit Nigeria and experience the country firsthand instead of relying on media stereotypes.
