Kun Khalifat FC have appointed Emmanuel Ifeanyi Nwabuwah as the club’s coordinator for the 2026/27 football season, while Warri Wolves have announced plans to appeal disciplinary sanctions imposed by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following an attack on a match official.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Kun Khalifat confirmed Nwabuwah’s appointment on Tuesday through an announcement on the club’s official X account, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute to the team’s progress during the upcoming campaign.

The club welcomed the new coordinator and wished him a successful and productive tenure as he takes up the role ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The appointment comes after Kun Khalifat secured a 1-0 victory over Inter Lagos on Sunday, extending their winning run at home to three consecutive matches. The result moved the club to 15th position on the NPFL table, with 12 points accumulated from 10 matches.

Meanwhile, Warri Wolves have confirmed their intention to challenge the sanctions imposed by the NPFL following an incident involving a match official after their goalless draw against Kano Pillars on Sunday.

The league handed the Delta-based club a ₦4.2 million fine, deducted three points and three goals from their record, and ordered them to play their next five home league fixtures behind closed doors.

In a statement released on the club’s official Facebook page, Warri Wolves said they would file an appeal, asking the league to reconsider the punishment in light of their efforts to identify and apprehend the individual allegedly involved in the incident.

The club explained that it would present available video evidence which, according to its account, showed that it had cautioned the individual before the incident. It also cited the subsequent arrest of the suspect as part of the grounds for seeking leniency.

Warri Wolves acknowledged the seriousness of the incident and said they respected the NPFL’s disciplinary procedures. However, the club expressed hope that the appeal would receive fair and compassionate consideration.

The sanctions could significantly affect the team’s position in the league standings. If the three-point deduction remains in force, Warri Wolves’ tally will fall from 12 points to nine, potentially pushing them from 14th to 17th position.

The club also appealed to its supporters to remain calm and united while awaiting the outcome of the appeal, describing the situation as a challenging period for the team.

Warri Wolves stressed that the club’s identity and legacy were bigger than any individual, administrator, coach or player, urging fans to continue supporting the team as it seeks a favourable resolution to the disciplinary case.
