Rodríguez said the decision was motivated by her desire to create a meaningful memory for their children, who she hopes will always remember the exact place where their parents got married.
The model and Ronaldo have kept details of the ceremony largely private, with Rodríguez explaining that she preferred an intimate family setting to the grand and luxurious locations available to them.
Speaking to Vogue, Rodríguez recalled that she once imagined her wedding as a spectacular fairytale event featuring a magnificent castle, an elaborate carriage, a long wedding gown and a diamond-encrusted crown.
However, she said her priorities have changed significantly over the years.
“As a little girl, I envisioned the grandest castle, the most magnificent carriage, the longest gown, and a crown adorned with diamonds,” Rodríguez said.
“Now, I find myself saying no. I desire something intimate, shared with my partner and our children, in the comfort of our home.”
Rodríguez explained that although she and Ronaldo have access to luxurious properties and expensive possessions, those material things were not what mattered most when deciding how and where to celebrate their marriage.
Instead, they opted for their living room—a place where the family regularly eats, relaxes and spends time together.
According to the model, the choice was less about the size or grandeur of the ceremony and more about creating a lasting memory for their children.
“We have access to castles, houses, islands, horses, and cars every day,” she said.
She added, **“We chose to hold the ceremony in our living room, the place where we share breakfast, lunch, and dinner and where we experience our daily lives.
“In 30 years, I want our children to remember that something wonderful occurred at this table, the wedding vows of our parents.”**
Rodríguez, however, hinted that the couple could still organise a bigger celebration with their family members and friends at a later date.
