Akpabio made the remarks on Friday during the inauguration of a newly completed seven-kilometre road and bridge project in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to him, President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda was designed to bring about deliberate, strategic, and lasting progress that would positively impact the lives of Nigerians.

His comments come amid growing concerns among citizens over the rising cost of living, largely linked to the removal of fuel subsidies and other economic reforms introduced by the administration.

The Senate President maintained that the government remains focused on implementing its long-term governance strategy.

“When we came into office, we did not promise miracles that would appear overnight. What we promised was structural, calculated and deliberate progress. We promised a Renewed Hope Agenda that would improve the lives of Nigerians, not only through economic figures but through meaningful changes in their everyday lives,” he said.

Meanwhile, Akpabio has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a “miracle worker” and “Mr Project” for his infrastructural achievements in Abuja.

Representing President Tinubu at the commissioning of the newly completed Airport Road (Bill Clinton Drive) to Tungan Madaki Community on Thursday, Akpabio praised Wike’s performance and credited the President for appointing him as FCT Minister.

He noted that it was unprecedented for a minister to dedicate an entire month to commissioning completed projects.

Akpabio said he was confident that the newly constructed road would stand the test of time due to the quality of work executed by the contractors.

“The Minister of the FCT is truly a miracle worker and Mr Project. I know what it means for communities to wait decades for infrastructure. The company that handled this road previously worked with me as governor, and roads they built over 15 years ago are still in excellent condition today.

“I commend the minister for engaging reputable construction firms. President Tinubu is a leader who continues to deliver regardless of criticism. Likewise, Wike continues to deliver whether people support him or not.

“Many people doubted that the former Rivers State governor could replicate his achievements in Abuja, but he has exceeded expectations. This is the first time in Nigeria’s history that a minister has scheduled project commissioning activities throughout an entire month. I thank President Tinubu for bringing this level of leadership and performance to the FCT,” he said.
