According to him, his time away from the music industry was intentional, as he used the period to focus on personal growth and self-development.

He explained that stepping back helped him gain clarity about his life and future direction, adding that he has now fully returned to music.

He said: “I have been on the mountain. I went on a journey of self-discovery. But I am back.”

YCee also discussed his stage name “Omo Alhaji,” revealing that it was inspired by his father’s Muslim background, although he does not practice the religion himself.

He further noted that his personal philosophy is rooted in love, which he considers his guiding principle in life.

Before his hiatus, YCee was widely recognized in the Nigerian music industry for hit songs such as Jagaban, Juice, and Omo Alhaji, which helped establish him as a household name across the country.

In other news, Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo, popularly known as Ruger, has also stepped away from music temporarily as he addresses an ongoing legal issue involving his former girlfriend.

According to his record label in a statement released on Thursday, his absence from the music scene is directly linked to the matter, which has kept him away from public engagements and performances.
