2.The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced on Monday that it conducted a raid on the Ilorin home of Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru (APC Kwara South), where a stash of drugs was seized. NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd) stated at a media briefing in Abuja that Ashiru’s recent attacks on the agency stem from personal vendetta rather than genuine concern for the public.

3.Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has reported that the importation of petroleum products is adversely affecting its operations. The refinery, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, filed a suit in the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to invalidate import licenses granted to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited and five other companies for importing refined products.

4.The Nigeria Immigration Service named social media figure Okuneye Idris, known as Bobrisky, as a person of interest in an ongoing investigation. The agency confirmed that its officers intercepted Idris at the Sème border while attempting to flee the country earlier that day. This follows Idris’s sentencing to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos for naira abuse in April 2024.

5.Two individuals were killed by suspected cultists on Monday at Odiokwu junction in Ula-Ehuda, Igbu Akoh-Kingdom, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State. This incident occurred just a day after five people were killed in Edeoha Community, also in Ahoada East LGA.

Bisi’s comments were in response to Ganduje’s remarks at a political event in Ondo State, where he claimed the APC had a strategy to “capture” the entire Southwest region.

8.Gunmen believed to be bandits killed three people along the Bangi and Kotonkoro road in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State. The incident took place on Sunday morning around 9:00 a.m., with the assailants reportedly blocking the road and firing at passing vehicles.

9.The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) clarified that no senior officer has been appointed as acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS). This statement comes in light of reports circulating online regarding the alleged death of COAS Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

10.The Naira strengthened against the dollar in the parallel market, rising to N1,715 per dollar from N1,725 last weekend. According to data from FMDQ, the indicative exchange rate for NAFEM decreased to N1,603.16 per dollar from N1,600.78 last Friday, reflecting a N2.38 depreciation for the Naira.
