Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has once again hit the headlines, this time for inaugurating a state-of-the-art vocational training center in the Biu Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State. This is not the first time the spotlight is on Zulum’s transformative efforts in this LGA; he recently graced the area, receiving an overwhelming welcome from a massive crowd. CONTINUE READING
The newly unveiled vocational center is nothing short of impressive. Spanning 15 workshops, it is outfitted with contemporary training equipment tailored for a plethora of trades. These include, but are not limited to, ICT training facilities, fashion design, hairdressing and cosmetology, welding, plumbing, carpentry, building technology, electrical works, solar panel installation, automobile and mechatronics, agricultural technology, knitting, aluminum fabrication, and more.
The move has sparked quite a bit of online chatter, with many Nigerians taking to social media to ask, “Where is he getting money from?” Clearly, the sheer scale and standard of the facility have left many intrigued about the funding sources.
While Zulum’s commitment to developing the region is palpable, it remains to be seen how this vocational center will transform the livelihoods of the residents in the long run. CONTINUE READING
