Which of these would give you the best chance of survival?

It’s an easy choice, but it’s not a particularly pleasant one, because the highest survival chance does not imply a good survival chance.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

It would be pointless to try to flee from either of the large cats. Lions can supposedly run at rates of up to 50mph (80 km/h), and tigers are slightly slower but still in a league of their own.

In any case, fleeing would be the last thing you’d want to do because it would brand you as prey. Your best bet* would be to bluff and appear intimidating while standing your ground and hoping the cat doesn’t notice you’re made of excellent meat.

*Your best bet would be to avoid being alone, unarmed (I presume), and on foot in the presence of a large feline.

I believe most of us have seen this meme-worthy image, which is actually genuine. Fortunately, the man, who I suppose was a game warden, outran the hippo.

Their top speed is roughly 19 mph (30 km/h), which makes them slower than the quickest humans but comfortably faster than me. If you want to watch one in action, scroll halfway down this page. It has a really good head of steam for such a large unit…

I’d simply have to hope I came upon an uninterested and lazy hippo. In other words, my chubbier, grumpier spirit animal.
