Why Did Mike Tyson Take Mayweather’s Claim That He Was Greater Than Muhammad Ali Personally?

Muhammad Ali has been referred to be the greatest boxer of all time by Mike Tyson. Muhammad Ali was such a hero to Tyson that disparaging or treating him with disrespect instantly infuriates him.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Larry Holmes and Ali engaged in a highly contentious fight back in 1980 that was extremely unwise for both athletes. Ali was long past his peak and only continued boxing to make up for the money he had lost due to expensive divorces and legal disputes. He was unable to box since he was already displaying symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. For knocking up Ali and pretending like he truly accomplished something, Larry Holmes came across as a chump.

Mike Tyson was insulted by this arrogance and vowed vengeance on Larry Holmes. (Remember, Mike Tyson wanted Holmes’ BLOOD. I’d commit suicide before Tyson ever got to me if he promised retribution on my a$$.) Sure, the irony of a young fighter against an elderly boxer past his peak is not lost on me, but Tyson completely decimated Holmes in 1988, delivering him his first career KO.

Floyd Mayweather is well aware that people despise him, thus his remarks about Muhammad Ali were made to stir up more controversy in order to promote his next fight. Disrespecting Ali is a red signal for Tyson, so what Mayweather said would irritate him.

Is Mayweather better than Ali? No.

They aren’t even in the same weight class, and Ali was around during the early days of boxing, when the rules and regulations were nothing like they are now. If they ever fought, Ali would demolish Mayweather.
