Why Ganduje Should Resign As APC National Chairman – Lawyer....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A legal expert from Kano, Wangida Isa, has urged Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to step down from his position amidst allegations of corruption. This advice comes in the wake of a widely circulated video from 2017 allegedly showing Ganduje receiving bundles of dollar notes as a bribe from a contractor and concealing them in his attire.

While Ganduje initially refuted the contents of the video and maintained his innocence, the case resurfaced when Governor Abba Yusuf pledged to pursue prosecution against his predecessor. The Kano High Court is scheduled to arraign Ganduje on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, on charges related to bribery, embezzlement, and diversion of funds, including accusations of accepting $413,000 and N1.38bn in bribes.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, Wangida Isa emphasized the importance of Ganduje temporarily stepping down from his role until he addresses the corruption allegations. Isa characterized the charges against the former governor as severe offenses, asserting that it is appropriate for the APC national chairman to take a leave of absence until he resolves the corruption case.

Isa pointed out that Ganduje has not been cleared of the allegations, citing the court’s decision to refer the case to a federal court due to the federal nature of the money laundering charges brought by the state government. Regarding Ganduje’s suspension purportedly orchestrated by the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) through certain APC ward executives, Isa clarified that ward executives have the legal authority to remove any party member, dismissing claims of external influence.

This legal counsel underscores the gravity of the accusations against Ganduje and emphasizes the necessity for him to address them transparently before resuming his leadership position within the APC.
