An elder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David Parish, Quincy Ayodele, has refuted claims that the late chairman of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, solely financed the construction of the church.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze on Monday night, Ayodele addressed the controversy surrounding the 60th birthday celebration of Idowu Iluyomade, the wife of the former parish pastor, which took place shortly after Wigwe’s tragic death.

Wigwe, along with his wife and son, died in a helicopter crash on February 9, 2024, a tragedy that deeply affected both Nigeria’s business and religious communities. However, just a few days after the incident, Siju Iluyomade, wife of the former parish pastor, held an extravagant birthday party, sparking public outrage over Wigwe’s alleged contribution to the church.

Ayodele clarified that the Trinity Towers project was a collective effort by all members of the City of David Parish, including Wigwe, and not a solo endeavor.

She remarked, “Pastor Herbert Wigwe did not single-handedly build Trinity Towers. It was the result of the combined efforts of all members of the City of David Parish, including him.”

Reflecting on the tragic event, Ayodele expressed her shock upon learning about the birthday celebration, stating, “We were all devastated when we heard of our brother’s passing. I was abroad at the time, and when I heard about the party, I assumed Mummy (Iluyomade’s wife) must have eventually agreed to go ahead with it. But the following day, I was stunned by reports from UK-based blogs.”
