Tubosoye, a proud daughter of Kalabari, emerged victorious in the prestigious pageant, earning the title of Miss Africa International 2024. A grand reception is set to be held in her honor in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In a congratulatory message from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Saturday, Horsfall expressed her joy and admiration for Tubosoye’s remarkable achievement, highlighting her success as a significant moment for Nigeria.
She noted, “In 2001, the Kalabari Kingdom gave the world its first black African Miss World, Agbani Darego. Now, we celebrate another global victory with Miss Tubosoye Karibi-George.”
Horsfall further urged the people of Rivers State to welcome Tubosoye with pride and called on the state government to officially recognize her as a Worthy Ambassador.
“I encourage the Government of Rivers State to honor her achievement as a source of inspiration for young women,” she said.
Horsfall also advised the new queen to use her platform to make a positive impact, showcasing the beauty, strength, and resilience of African women.
