Gusau described the circulating reports as false, malicious, and misleading. His position was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by his Press Secretary, Salisu Mohammed.

According to the statement, the allegation was allegedly fabricated by desperate political actors aiming to misinform the public, sow confusion, and destabilize the political environment.

“We wish to categorically state that this report is false, baseless, mischievous, and the handiwork of desperate political elements whose sole objective is to mislead the public, create confusion within the polity, and undermine the democratic process,” the statement read.

The ADC candidate reaffirmed that Gusau remains the duly recognized governorship flagbearer of the party in Zamfara State.

It further stressed that he has neither withdrawn from the race nor authorized any individual or group to make such claims on his behalf.

“At no time has he withdrawn his candidature, nor has he authorised any individual or group to speak on his behalf regarding such a matter,” the statement added.

It urged party members, supporters, stakeholders, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the general public to disregard any publication or social media post suggesting otherwise.
