In an interaction with reporters from Farin Wata TV station in Gusau, the state capital, Governor Lawal detailed that his travels have facilitated the restoration of confidence among foreign and local partners who had withdrawn aid due to widespread corruption by public officials.
He emphasized that with the regained trust in the state government, efforts to refurbish and advance significant educational and healthcare infrastructure throughout the state will recommence shortly.
Governor Lawal highlighted the donation of medical supplies and equipment by foreign agencies to revive the ailing healthcare sector in the state.
Addressing the prevailing security issues across the state, Governor Lawal stressed the ongoing training of the government-recruited Community Protection Guards by security agencies to ensure their effective performance in their duties.
He further underscored the commitment to equip these guards adequately and furnish them with essential logistical support for their operations.
Expressing concern about the extensive public corruption in the state, Governor Lawal pledged to curtail corruption by exposing the perpetrators.
He assured that measures would be taken to recover embezzled public funds and punish the offenders appropriately, while cautioning public officials to refrain from corrupt activities or face removal from office.
