12 Goals In 12 Games! Mbappé Leads Real Madrid To Impressive Victory Over RB Leipzig
Real Madrid continued their impressive UEFA Champions League campaign with a convincing victory over RB Leipzig, as Kylian Mbappé and Yan Diomande both scored and registered assists in an outstanding attacking display.
Mbappé maintained his remarkable scoring form by netting his 12th goal in 12 appearances this season, while Diomande delivered a memorable performance against his former club, contributing a goal and an assist to help Madrid secure the victory.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Leipzig began the encounter positively and created several promising opportunities, but Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois kept his side in the contest with crucial saves against Christopher Nkunku and Romulo.
Madrid eventually broke the deadlock two minutes before half-time through Bernardo Silva, who scored his first goal for the Spanish giants following his summer transfer from Manchester City. Silva reacted quickly after Arda Güler’s effort took a deflection and slipped through the legs of Leipzig goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt.
The hosts extended their advantage early in the second half when Güler converted from close range after meeting Mbappé’s header across the goalmouth.
Mbappé subsequently increased Madrid’s lead with an impressive curling finish from the edge of the penalty area. The French forward had earlier failed to convert a Jude Bellingham cut-back, sending his effort into the side netting, but he made no mistake with his next opportunity.
His latest strike took his tally to 12 goals in 12 appearances this season, further underlining his importance to Madrid’s attacking strength.
Leipzig attempted to fight their way back into the contest when Tidiam Gomis finished a well-coordinated attacking move to reduce the deficit. However, Madrid responded just two minutes later through substitute Diomande.
The forward produced a spectacular volley from outside the penalty area against his former club, putting the result beyond Leipzig’s reach and completing an impressive individual performance.
Both Mbappé and Diomande finished the match with a goal and an assist, highlighting their influence on Madrid’s attacking display.
The victory preserved Real Madrid’s perfect start to their Champions League campaign and strengthened their position in the competition.
Madrid are expected to turn their attention to domestic action, with a Clasico encounter against Barcelona scheduled for Sunday, October 25, before their trip to Greece to face AEK Athens on Wednesday, November 4.
Leipzig, meanwhile, will look to recover from the defeat when they host Manchester City on the same Wednesday.
