During an interview on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Galadima alleged that Jandor’s victory was “stolen,” arguing that the election results were manipulated in favor of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour. Sanwo-Olu was declared the winner with 762,134 votes, followed by Rhodes-Vivour with 312,329 votes, while Jandor polled 62,449 votes.
Galadima also accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating Jandor’s defection as part of a broader scheme to weaken the opposition. He suggested that the APC’s goal was to neutralize any credible challengers ahead of future elections.
“You have just seen what Jandor has done. Look at the support he enjoyed from the people of Lagos. I can confidently say he won the election, but his mandate was taken away,” Galadima said.
However, he criticized Jandor’s decision to return to the APC, arguing that true opposition should be based on principles rather than political convenience.
“But today, look at him—he has backtracked and rejoined the APC. How do we build a strong opposition when people abandon their stance for personal gains? Even if you are alone, stand firm on your principles,” he lamented.
Jandor, who recently dumped the PDP for the APC, defended his move, citing strategic considerations. He argued that the APC’s strength and ability to secure future electoral victories made it a more viable political platform.
He also blamed his exit from the PDP on internal party conflicts, including indiscipline and anti-party activities, which he claimed hindered his political ambitions.
