Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across the state and ensuring that internally displaced persons (IDPs) can safely return to their ancestral communities.

The governor gave the assurance on Monday in Jos during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mutfwang said his administration was determined to improve security in every part of Plateau State and take practical measures to enable residents who fled their communities because of insecurity to return home.

He disclosed that the state government would soon reinforce its security operations through the deployment of additional personnel, including retrained Operation Rainbow operatives and forest guards.

According to the governor, a new batch of retrained Operation Rainbow personnel would be commissioned the following week, while at least 800 trained forest guards would be deployed within four weeks.

He stressed that the measures were part of his administration’s determination to restore peace and ensure that displaced residents could return to their homes without fear.

Mutfwang also commended President Bola Tinubu for his support in tackling insecurity and his efforts towards improving the welfare of Nigerians.

The governor urged residents of Plateau State to remain patient and continue supporting his administration’s efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the state.

He maintained that creating a safe environment for residents and facilitating the return of displaced families remained key priorities of his government.
