The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Wike made the appeal on Wednesday during a political stakeholders’ forum in Abuja, where he promised to provide the necessary campaign logistics for PDP members willing to mobilise support for Tinubu and other candidates he endorsed.

The minister also called on party members to support Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda and Dr John Gabaya in their respective electoral contests, expressing confidence that the political mobilisation underway would produce positive results.

“I know all the PDP FCT will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will support Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, will support Dr John Gabaya,” Wike said.

Pointing to an area council chairman at the gathering, the minister argued that his political mobilisation efforts, associated with the Rainbow Coalition, were attracting support from members of different political parties.

He noted that although the chairman belonged to the PDP, he had joined efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu and Aduda ahead of the next general elections.

“He is of PDP, is it not correct? But you see, he has come out mobilizing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, mobilizing for Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda,” Wike stated.

The FCT minister assured supporters that resources required for the campaign would be made available, declaring that logistics would not be a barrier to their mobilisation activities.

“All the logistics for our campaign, you will have it. Everything you will have it,” he said.

Wike further disclosed that he had been assigned responsibilities to coordinate support for Tinubu in both Rivers State and the FCT ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to the minister, he was determined to ensure that both states delivered electoral support for the president, urging his supporters to take the election seriously and participate actively in the voting process.

“I was even given two assignments: to coordinate for Rivers State, to make sure Rivers State is delivered to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and to make sure FCT is delivered to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Wike expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure victory in both territories, while encouraging eligible voters to come out with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and cast their ballots.

“With the grace of God, FCT is for Tinubu, Rivers is for Tinubu. We must take this election very, very seriously,” the minister added.

His remarks highlight his ongoing efforts to mobilise political support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, including among PDP members in the FCT.
