2027 Will Be Too Late! Bala Mohammed’s Son Demands Immediate Recognition From PDP

Shamsudeen Mohammed, the eldest son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to undergo internal reforms, embrace reconciliation, and recognize the efforts of loyal leaders like his father ahead of the 2027 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to reports, the PDP Governors’ Forum, led by Governor Mohammed, recently convened in Ibadan, Oyo State, where they rejected proposals for a coalition with other opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. The decision has been interpreted by many as a setback for the party’s presidential flag bearer in 2023, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is believed to support forming alliances with parties like the Labour Party (LP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, April 16, 2025, Shamsudeen urged the PDP to start strategizing immediately to secure victory in 2027 and to avoid a repeat of history by making his father a scapegoat after the elections.
He highlighted the PDP’s groundbreaking win in Bauchi during the 2023 presidential polls—a significant achievement considering the state had been a stronghold of former President Muhammadu Buhari since 2003.
Shamsudeen credited the win to grassroots mobilization, steadfast loyalty, and his father’s political resilience. He emphasized that Governor Bala Mohammed triumphed over major challenges, including internal party rifts, intense pressure from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and strategic efforts led by President Bola Tinubu.
He urged all stakeholders within the PDP to unite and develop a viable strategy to ensure nationwide victory in 2027, warning against allowing vested interests to overshadow Governor Mohammed’s contributions.
“Since 2003, Bauchi has consistently supported Muhammadu Buhari across various platforms—ANPP, CPC, and APC. Not even a northern heavyweight like Atiku Abubakar could turn the tide,” Shamsudeen noted.
“Yet, against all odds, my father secured a landmark victory for the PDP—surpassing even the results in Atiku’s home state of Adamawa. That didn’t happen by chance. It was the result of my father’s strategic leadership, deep-rooted loyalty, and unwavering commitment. He defended the PDP’s presence in the North-East when it mattered most,” he added.
