What Are Some Of The Creepiest Experiments Ever Done In Human History?
The Kellogg’s Experiment.
Luella and Winthrop Kellogg, two psychologists, had a son named Donald. They decided to raise their child alongside a chimp named Gua in an experiment to determine the effect of the environment on chimp development and the possibility of humanizing the chimp.
This experiment began when Gua was 7 months old and Donald was 10 months old. They were raised as siblings, eating at the same time, wearing the same clothes, playing with the same toys, and sleeping in the same place.
As the experiment progressed, Donald began to imitate Gua, making Chimp sounds and walking like one. He was gradually turning into a feral child. The experiment was called off because they expected Gua to imitate Donald, not the other way around.
The experiment had a long-term impact on Donald, who committed suicide at the age of 43. Gua died a year after she was divorced from Donald.
