This update was shared in a statement on Thursday by Emmanuel Onyigor, Deputy Director of Information at the National Assembly Commission. According to the appointment letter signed by Commission Chairman Engr. Ahmed Kadi, Ogunlana’s tenure will begin on January 2, 2025.
The Commission cited Ogunlana’s extensive experience, dedication, and administrative skill as reasons for his selection, encouraging him to uphold the responsibilities of his new role.
Earlier reports indicated that Tambuwal’s retirement follows President Bola Tinubu’s disapproval of a bill proposing service extensions for senior officials, which will see around 30 officials retiring along with him.
