Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has said that Nigerians are fully aware of the manipulation that occurs in election collation rooms and will continue to push for the compulsory electronic transmission of results ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

On Monday morning, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, alongside other concerned Nigerians, converged on the National Assembly complex to demand that electronic transmission of election results be made mandatory.

Despite multiple clarifications from the Senate denying that it rejected electronic transmission, protesters have insisted that lawmakers must clearly state the phrase “real-time electronic transmission” in the proposed legislation to remove any ambiguity.

The Senate had earlier announced that it would convene an emergency plenary session on Tuesday to address the concerns raised.

Speaking to journalists at the protest venue, Fayose described the demonstration as only the beginning, noting that the outcome of the emergency session would determine whether the protests would continue.

According to him, “We all know what happens in a collation room. A collation room is like soaking garri overnight—by morning, it has swollen and turned into eba.

“For Nigerians to be satisfied, what we need is electronic transmission of results, yet they are trying to deny it. Let’s wait until tomorrow. This protest is just a warning.

“Something we spent close to a trillion naira to achieve cannot simply be discarded. That would be like taking our money and throwing it into the gutter—it cannot happen.”
