Ibrahim Osinowo, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has labeled President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, a “staunch liar” and an “image destroyer.”....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Osinowo’s remarks come amid widespread criticism of Bwala following his interview with Al Jazeera journalist Mehdi Hasan.

In a Monday interview with News Central Television, Osinowo emphasized that Bwala does not represent the Nigerian government officially. He pointed out that the President’s official spokesperson remains Bayo Onanuga, who serves as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

According to Osinowo, Bwala’s role is limited to policy advice, and any official communications on government matters must be approved by Onanuga. He added that other designated communication officials, such as Sunday Dare, are also responsible for conveying the government’s stance.

The APC chieftain accused Bwala of using the Al Jazeera interview as a platform to boost his personal profile and rebuild his public image.

Osinowo stated, “Bayo Onanuga is the official spokesperson of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Daniel is not the spokesperson; he is a policy adviser, and his policies still require Onanuga’s approval.

“Daniel did not go to the United Kingdom to discuss government business. He went there to renew his personal image, which many people now view as that of a staunch liar and image destroyer.

“If anyone needs official information about the APC government, they should speak with Bayo Onanuga or Sunday Dare, who are charged with conveying the government’s official position to Nigerians—not Daniel.”
