The directive comes less than 24 hours after he was sworn in for a second term in office.

The move, which effectively dissolves the current cabinet, was communicated through an official circular dated March 18, 2026, issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

According to the circular, affected officials are required to transfer their duties to Permanent Secretaries or, where unavailable, the most senior civil servants within their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The government stressed that the handover must be completed before the close of work on the same day, pending the formation of a new cabinet.

The circular was signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Nwabufor Nwankwo.

This development marks the official conclusion of Soludo’s first-term cabinet and signals the beginning of a new administrative phase under his second tenure.
