In a post shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account, the actress revealed that passengers—including elderly individuals—were left waiting at the airport for nearly 10 hours without access to their luggage, hotel accommodation, or clear updates from the airline.

She described the situation as unacceptable, noting that travellers had been at the airport since early morning after being informed that a bird strike caused the delay.

According to her, despite assurances that hotel arrangements would be made, many passengers were still left at the baggage area hours later, tired, hungry, and without their belongings.

In a follow-up message, Akindele stressed that the situation had worsened as the day progressed, with no luggage released and no accommodation provided, urging the airline to act immediately and attend to affected passengers.

Reacting to the complaints, Air Peace expressed regret over the inconvenience but explained that the disruption was due to circumstances beyond its control. The airline added that it prioritises safety and operational efficiency and assured passengers that efforts were ongoing to provide necessary support.
