APC Primaries: Full List Of Reps Members Who Secured Return Tickets Emerges
Following the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary elections held across various states on Saturday, May 16, 2026, several key political figures secured their party tickets for the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Among those who clinched return tickets are the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen; his deputy, Benjamin Kalu; Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudasiru Obasa; and the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, James Faleke.
Others who emerged as APC candidates include Yusuf Buhari, son of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari; Yusuf Gagdi, Chairman of the House Committee on Navy; Jimi Benson; Leke Abejide; former Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu; and Olumide Osoba, son of former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba.
While Tajudeen, Kalu, and Faleke will be seeking re-election, Yusuf Buhari is making his first attempt to enter the Green Chamber.
However, the House Majority Leader, Julius Ihonvbere, failed in his bid to return to the House.
In addition, four serving lawmakers from Imo State, two from Nasarawa State, and socialite businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, also lost their bids for APC tickets.
Reports from across the country indicated high voter turnout in many constituencies where the primaries were conducted. The exercise was largely peaceful, although there were incidents of protests in parts of Kaduna and Osun over alleged irregularities, while disruptions by suspected thugs were reported in Jos South, Plateau State.
Kaduna State
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, was returned unopposed as the APC candidate for Zaria Federal Constituency. He expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged continued service and support for the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.
In Sabon Gari, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, son of former ABU Vice Chancellor Professor Ango Abdullahi, emerged as the party’s candidate.
Other winners in Kaduna included Amos Gwamna Magaji (Zango Kataf/Jaba), Samaila Abdul Suleiman (Kaduna North), Benjamin Gugong (Kaura), Mukhtar Zakarin Chiawai (Kauru), Felix Joseph Bagudu (Kachia), Daniel Amos (Jema’a/Sanga), and Gabriel Salle (Kagarko/Kachia).
In Kaduna North, Suleiman defeated Abdulaziz Abubakar Kaka and Abubakar Mahmoud with 3,049 votes, while his opponents scored significantly lower figures.
However, the campaign organisation of Kaka rejected the outcome, alleging manipulation and disenfranchisement of voters. They described the exercise as undemocratic and vowed not to accept the result.
Similarly, supporters of Sani Abdulkadir Dakace in Igabi Federal Constituency accused party officials of frustrating the process by failing to provide election materials.
In another development, Mahmud Sadis Buba withdrew from the Sabon Gari race shortly before the election, citing reconciliation efforts by APC leaders.
Lagos State
In Lagos, Speaker Mudasiru Obasa was returned unopposed as the APC candidate for Agege Federal Constituency, expressing appreciation for the support of party members and residents.
James Faleke secured the Ikeja/Ojodu ticket, while Jimi Benson emerged winner in Ikorodu. Other winners included Fuad Atanda Lawal (Eti-Osa) and Fuad Laguda (Surulere).
In Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mayor Dele Oshinowo defeated several opponents including Yetunde Arobieke, Remi Odunsi, and Kafilat Ogbara to clinch the ticket.
Edo State
House Majority Leader, Julius Ihonvbere, lost his bid to return for a third term, as Andrew Ijegbai defeated him in Owan Federal Constituency.
Also, Eseosa Iyawe lost in Oredo Federal Constituency to Dr. Paddy Iyamu.
In Esan West/Igueben/Esan Central, confusion emerged after parallel primaries produced competing winners.
Other winners included Anamero Dekeri (Etsako), Omosede Igbinedion (Ovia), Odianosen Okojie (Esan South East/Esan North East), and Billy Osawaru (Uhunmwode/Orhionmwon).
The Edo APC leadership described the exercise as free, fair, and credible.
Delta State
Ndudi Elumelu secured the APC ticket for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, while other winners included Erhiatake Suenu Ibori (Ethiope), Thomas Ereyitomi (Warri), Francis Waive (Ughelli/Udu), Ramson Onoyake (Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie), Basil Ganagana (Bomadi/Patani), and Ajirioghene Ukodhiko (Isoko).
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries, describing it as a sign of unity and progress within the party.
Ogun State
Olumide Osoba, son of former Governor Olusegun Osoba, emerged APC candidate for Owode/Abeokuta North/Odeda Federal Constituency.
Other winners included Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (Imeko Afon), Afolabi Afuwape (Abeokuta South), and Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye (Ifo/Ewekoro).
Kogi State
Leke Abejide, a recent defector from ADC, secured the APC ticket for Yagba Federal Constituency unopposed.
Other winners included Gowon Haruna (Dekina/Bassa), Abdulraheem Sani Edidi (Lokoja/Kotonkarfe), and Danladi Aguye (Ajaokuta).
Plateau State
Yusuf Adamu Gagdi was endorsed as APC candidate for Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency after consultations within the party.
Jigawa State
Five serving APC lawmakers secured return tickets in Jigawa, while results from other constituencies are still being awaited.
Niger State
Adamu Abubakar, son of former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar, emerged APC candidate for Chanchaga Federal Constituency after polling 30,650 votes.
Other winners included Abdullahi Mahmud (Lapai) and Prof. Yakubu Auna (Magama/Rijau).
