The response followed remarks by the Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Kano State Government House, Sanusi Bature, who said during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday that Kwankwaso’s political moves could ultimately benefit President Tinubu.

Bature also alleged that some politicians operate openly in support of Tinubu, while others may be working for him behind the scenes, claiming that Kwankwaso’s actions could eventually align with the president’s interests due to past political interactions.

Reacting to the claim, the spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Habeeb Saleh Mohammed, dismissed the allegation, insisting it was an attempt to undermine Kwankwaso’s political standing.

He said the statement was a product of political desperation and aimed at creating false narratives about the former governor’s influence.

According to him, Kwankwaso has always been transparent about his political stance and does not engage in secret political dealings.

He also denied any suggestion of collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that the movement has not at any time negotiated or reached out to the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Habeeb maintained that Kwankwaso’s only known interaction with President Tinubu was a public engagement years ago, insisting there has been no further political arrangement between both sides.

He further accused political opponents of attempting to mislead the public and weaken Kwankwaso’s growing influence, especially within the Nigerian Democratic Congress.

He added that the movement remains focused on its political direction and is committed to what it believes will bring positive change to Nigeria, urging the public to disregard unfounded allegations.
