The disruption reportedly started when party stakeholders, including FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe, gathered before the distribution of materials for the primary election.

The chairman of the election committee, Abubakar Adams Chika, alongside the committee secretary, David Godwin, had convened the meeting at the party’s FCT secretariat to brief stakeholders on the process for the exercise.

However, the meeting was interrupted after a man identified as Tijani Mubarak, accompanied by four others, allegedly stormed the venue carrying sticks and caused disorder.

According to reports, Tijani confronted the committee chairman over his refusal to attend a private meeting invitation, triggering a heated argument that was captured in a viral video circulating online.

Sources claimed that Tijani opposed the emergence of Ireti Kingibe as the party’s candidate for the FCT senatorial election, despite her eventual victory in the primary.

Meanwhile, former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi has declared himself the most qualified and electable presidential aspirant within the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Amaechi, who also served as Minister of Transportation, made the remark during an interview on Arise Television on Friday.

The former governor argued that his extensive leadership experience and relatively younger age place him ahead of other aspirants contesting for the party’s presidential ticket.

Other contenders in the ADC presidential race include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Northern Nigeria Development Company boss Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
