Daurawa revealed that more than 5,000 people applied to participate in the programme, but only 3,000 couples will be selected after successfully completing the medical screening process.

He also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for supporting the initiative, noting that the governor will announce the official date for the event.

The medical screening exercise began on Monday, May 8, 2026, involving prospective couples from 24 of Kano State’s 44 local government areas.
