According to the party successfully submitted the names of its candidates through the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP), with a total of 471 candidates uploaded for various elective positions.
The development was confirmed by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in a statement shared on his official account. He congratulated the party’s candidates, leaders and members for achieving the milestone, describing it as a significant step in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
Yilwatda stated that with the nomination process successfully concluded, the APC’s attention would now shift to mobilisation, grassroots engagement and campaign activities aimed at securing victory in the 2027 polls.
In a related development, the APC chairman expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would secure a convincing mandate for a second term in office. Speaking in Abuja during the submission of the nomination forms of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as the party’s presidential ticket for the 2027 election, he said the party already has an estimated 12 million votes guaranteed from its registered members across the country.
He also maintained that the overwhelming support received by President Tinubu during the APC presidential primary reflects the level of confidence party members have in his leadership and signals what the party expects in the general election.
Yilwatda further argued that the administration’s ongoing programmes and development initiatives, which he said have positively impacted millions of Nigerians, would strengthen the President’s chances of securing another electoral victory in 2027.
