Addressing journalists after the meeting, Uzodimma said the talks focused on the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance security, improve economic performance and fast-track development across the country.

The governor congratulated President Tinubu on the successful rescue of the schoolchildren who were recently abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the operation as a clear demonstration of the administration’s resolve to safeguard lives and tackle insecurity.

He also praised the President over the recent increase in Nigeria’s crude oil production, noting that higher output would boost government revenue, strengthen the economy and provide more resources for national development.

Uzodimma reaffirmed his support for the creation of state police, arguing that decentralised policing would complement the work of existing federal security agencies and enable state governments to address local security challenges more effectively.

According to him, establishing state police would improve intelligence gathering and enhance efforts to combat crime across the country.

The governor also briefed President Tinubu on key infrastructure and development projects being executed by his administration in Imo State.

He said the projects are improving the standard of living of residents, enhancing connectivity and creating more economic opportunities for businesses and investors.

Uzodimma added that the initiatives are in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda by promoting inclusive economic growth and sustainable development.

He also invited President Tinubu to visit Imo State to inaugurate completed projects undertaken by his administration, expressing confidence that such a visit would further deepen collaboration between the Federal Government and the state in driving development.
