Tiwa Savage Reveals Ex Boyfriend Leaked Private Video After Shocking Bet With Friends

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has revealed that the leak of her private video was allegedly orchestrated by a former boyfriend who placed a bet with his friends, describing the experience as deeply traumatic.

The award-winning singer said the incident left her feeling betrayed and insisted she now sees herself as a victim rather than someone seeking publicity.

Speaking during an interview on The Breakfast Club, Savage also dismissed claims that the leaked video was a publicity stunt designed to boost her career.

The private video surfaced online in 2021, sparking widespread controversy and speculation. At the time, reports suggested the singer was being blackmailed, with claims that money had been demanded to prevent the footage from being released.

Recounting the incident, Savage said her former boyfriend initially claimed the video was accidentally shared while he was trying to save it. However, she later discovered that the leak was allegedly linked to a wager he had made with his friends.

According to her, learning the truth made the ordeal even more painful because she had trusted him as her partner.

“Even that itself was traumatic because he was my boyfriend, we were in a relationship, and I’m hearing later that it was a bet. So, did you really like me or was this planned from the beginning?

“I trusted him at the time because he was my boyfriend, but I didn’t know he did it because he placed a bet with his friend.

“I’m not going to anyone’s hotel because you can have cameras hidden. You’re coming to my safe space.

“They thought I did it for PR. A lot of people said, ‘She’s not relevant anymore and she’s doing this.’ But if I wanted to do PR, trust me, I would have had better lighting,” she said.
