The All Progressives Congress has announced the resumption of its membership registration and validation exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise is scheduled to begin on August 31, 2026, with registration and validation to be conducted electronically across the party’s wards nationwide.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed the development in Abuja on Tuesday, urging party members, supporters and prospective members to participate in the exercise.

Morka explained that prospective members must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number to register with the party.

He added that existing APC members would also be required to validate their membership details as part of efforts to update and digitise the party’s records.

The party said the electronic registration system would provide a more accurate and accessible database of its members, which could assist in planning, administration and decision-making.

Morka further noted that the exercise was designed to strengthen internal democracy within the party while advancing the APC’s adoption of technology in political administration.

He called on all eligible Nigerians interested in joining the party, as well as existing members, to take advantage of the registration and validation exercise.

The move comes as political parties intensify preparations and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
