An old video of late gospel singer Toluwanisings speaking affectionately about his wife has resurfaced online amid an ongoing disagreement over his burial arrangements involving his widow and members of his paternal family.
The video was shared by Nigerian actress Biola Adebayo on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, bringing renewed attention to the singer’s emotional account of his relationship with his wife and the support she provided throughout their time together.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Toluwanisings described his wife as his backbone, inspiration and source of encouragement, recalling how she prayed for him and supported him during challenging periods of his life.
In the interview, the singer appeared delighted as he spoke about his wife, expressing deep appreciation for her love and commitment.
“My wife has been a source of inspiration to me, a source of encouragement. My backbone. You know, sometimes she wakes in the night and just pray for me, lay her hands upon me,” he said.
The late musician also shared details about their courtship, revealing that he spent six years trying to persuade his wife to enter into a relationship with him.
“Let me tell you, I used six years to ask her out,” he recalled with a laugh.
According to the singer, they attended the same church during that period and had to keep their relationship discreet. At the time of the interview, the couple had known each other for nearly two decades.
The resurfacing of the video has drawn attention because of the reported dispute surrounding the late singer’s burial. Reports indicate that his widow and members of his paternal family have disagreed over arrangements for his final rites, placing the issue under public scrutiny.
The singer’s heartfelt remarks about his wife have consequently renewed interest in their relationship, with the video offering a glimpse into the affection and support he publicly acknowledged during his lifetime.
